An individual’s competitive nature can kick in for different reasons such as feeding their ego or out of necessity. In the case of Black Friday shopping, there is a mix of feelings and emotions running through everyone. The air is thicker, there’s an intensity and rush to come out of a big box store with an electronic device dozens of other shoppers were eyeing from the moment the advertisement was released.
This was your average Joe’s version of the Bachelor.
“My energy is similar to theirs. We are all in pursuit of something specific that wouldn’t be attainable on any other day but the present,” Naty says, observing the long line of people from the comfort of her car. Her phone is propped on the dashboard, allowing her to record the observation and reaction hands-free.
“There are differences, of course. Everyone you see out there has the same goal, yet not every game plan is the same. Some are at an advantage, while others are not. If I could find out what was in their hearts or where their mind was at, I would find something different, from pure excitement to dread and destruction.”
Naty herself had a taste of bitterness and malice from Noelle after her victory at Spooky SZN several weeks back. Rather than further encourage the negativity, she made her departure knowing she met her objective, and Black Friday would be no different.
“Wrestling at the Mega Mallplex is a step in the right direction. I think about how many big names and talents have toured in these places. Imagine a young Tony Russo waiting in a line similar to this one in hopes of making a connection with Debbie Gibson or a legendary NFL player. I acknowledge we are in a unique circumstance. We are to be seen in passing as some shoppers may be put off by our appearance and actions, or perhaps serve as a reason for a tired mother of three to take a breather and check us out like a parked Subaru across a Williams-Sonoma store.”
Naty pauses, looking again at the crowd of people, noticing the line has grown within minutes.
“What’s currently happening leads me to think about the Japanese word, ‘chowa.’ When you break it down, it means to search for balance. Many peers in this line of work may advise against embracing the crowd in order to stay focused and not lose sight of an opponent. Others will say that their attitude may vary depending on how they are received. I realize that I do not have control over this ecosystem within the Megaplex, but I have all the power when it comes to accepting or rejecting their energy.”
She could not, however, dismiss the significance of manifestation, wishing well on others, good karma, and so on. Knowing that Tony’s son came around and expressed interest in seeing Naty succeed gave her a small jolt to win her match.
“Spirits thrive on the living and are strongest when they are fed horror and fear. Whether you cheer, boo, or stay silent - you’re breathing. If there’s a pulse or a functioning pacemaker, you will serve your purpose. I will receive you all with open arms, and the hands are reserved for Uriel.”
Staying true to her word, Naty steps out of her vehicle and walks over to the end of the line. As a minimalist, she wasn’t one to line up for materialistic things but instead an experience such as dining or for entertainment. The seasoned shoppers came prepared with foldable chairs and to-go snacks. She stands behind a party of four who sit comfortably while conversing with one another. The current topic makes her cringe a bit as she is quick to catch on.
“That Powell lady knows what she’s doing. We’re in for some truth bombs next week!”
“Aunt Tabitha, there’s no Kraken. Maybe crack and cocaine between Hunter and Don Jr. Again, please stay off bitchute” says, the youngest of the group.
Naty could not help but to sigh in relief at the seemingly voice of reason within the group. This is how it would be wherever she frequented. Despite their appearance, background and beliefs, without spectators, there wouldn’t be a show. She would need to take the good with the bad and navigate through it. People’s opinions can change with time, so she wasn’t worried about winning anyone over right away. They just needed to be there.
